Peyton's Potty Training Begins

Soooo, we aren't really thinking Peyton's ready to potty train, but Last week on monday, June 18th.  He woke with a dry diaper.  I said, "let's go potty" he said "potty" so i ran to bathroom, sat him on pot and in about 3 seconds he peed a pot full.  YAY! we cheered, took pics etc.  Then the next day he yelled "poopoo mommy" well, he says this after he has gone alot so i checked and he had gone, but sat him on pot anyway and he pushed hard and a little more came out. Yay!  he has asked to sit on pot a few times since :)  We are not pushing it right now, but loving that he is wanting to try on his own.  helps that big sissy does that and he wants to be just like her!
(just looked it up and Taylor pooped in  potty on Aug 5th...so she was almost 2......blog said still a long way to go, so maybe that was her first time doing anything or just poop?) lol...the things we care about.

Peyton says Purple

Yesterday, Peyton was yelling at me and I said, "what buddy"

He said, "purple, mommy, purple"

and painted to Taylor's shoes

So proud.  His first color I have heard him say.

"Please don't drink from the toilet."

Was fixing Taylor's hair this morning and Peyton was playing with the toys in the bathroom (ones from tub).  then tay yells, he's in toilet, and I look, I see him with the hair washing cup dipping it in the toilet and racing it to his mouth.  GROSS!  blah.  I yell "please don't drink from the toilet."  Something I never thought I would say.  and run to grab cup.  so gross.  especially since tay forgets to flush from time to time.  Rah.  but it looked like it was flushed. whew

confusion

So we have noticed Peyton calls me Daddy and Travis Mommy.  We are not sure how he is confused, but he does it all the time and is frustrated when we do not respond.  I assume cause I'm always calling for "daddy" he must be thinking i have been calling my own name and vise versa, lol???

Peyton 18 mos stats

So the doctor's visit fell closer to 19 mos than 18 mos :(
VERY active little boy.  doctor i think was amazed at how active he was.  Peyton showed off:  Doctor asked how many words could he say?  I replied: a bunch.  He said, so like 10?  I said, not probably more like 40-50.  Then I said, Hey Peyton, say 'doctor' to which Peyton said, "doctor." then he pointed at door and said "door".  then he pointed and doctor's shoes and said "shoes." doctor laughed and said, hey you are showing off aren't you.  peyton did his bashful grin and crossed his arms.  hilarious.  if i recall right, taylor did something similar when they asked me how many words she was saying at this age.  i need to look that up!

we are cutting back his milk to 20 ounces (normal for all 18 mos olds) and hopefully he stays this weight til 2 year appt :)

Good appt.  He hated the 3 shots.  started yelling something at the nurse.  We could not understand him but he kept saying same thing over and over to her.  LOL

taylor funny-squash bug

so this morning a tiny water bug takes off across the floor in the kitchen and Peyton get's so excited and hurried over to it. gets done on his knees and is crawling closer to it, investigating (ALL BOY) and Taylor walks by swiftly and steps on it. Total dissapointment in Peyton's face. I look at Taylor and say "Taylor, why did you do that?" To which she responded. "What? It's a bug." like duh mom, you kill bugs. so funny.

My feelings are not well

Tay tells me today "My feelings are not well" Interpretation: I don't feel well :) got to love it

Pey says

Hi Dadda a lot! but this morning when he didn't feel well all he could say was momma momma momma. yay! finally

we just realized we haven't been working on waving so we started to and low and behold he took off waving at us yesterday. shocked us

Peyton stats 9 mos

22 lbs 11 ounces-75 percentile on weight
28.15 inches-40 percentile on height
18.5 in -90 percentile on head!

Peyton's first word and mobile!

I hate to say it, but it's Dadda. I knew he would say mama since Taylor said Dada first, but nope! He started saying Dadadadadada a little over a week ago, but definitely says Dada now. I don't think he knows who that is or isn't. he just knows we keep saying it :)

AND he's very mobile! I wouldn't say he is crawling, but for the last week he has taught himself to stay on all 4s, rock back til he sits, turn, lay out to get toy he wants or roll to it. so he's very mobile. and he can crawl back a few paces just not forward!~

Peyton's first tooth

He has been unusually cranky the past few days...and for good reason! the bottom right tooth popped through today. Yay P!

Canpakes

Taylor loves Pops Canpakes he made this morning....too bad they are called Pancakes! hahahaha

Taylor's arguement with Beckett

We are in LR playing with Beckett and Lucille and we hear Taylor scream and cry. We run in there and she says, "He's smiling and I don't have a camera." Really? She was mad at him cause he was smiling at her and she was missing a photographic opportunity. Sounds like she's related to me :)

Peyton is 6 months old!

and he now goes by the names P-Dog, Bubba and Taylor's newest: "Bub"

I guess Bubba was getting too long for her fast pace lifestyle.

She loves him a ton...so much she will tell you she's his momma.

Peyton rolls over!

So he's been rolling from stomach to back pretty much since day one. Travis said he did it at the hospital when they took him for vitals and it shocked nurse. but from back to stomach is his new trick! and I guess he felt like 6 mos old was the day to do it! we saw him do it several times yesterday and even got it on video. Go P-Dog!

oh and Peyton is sitting up quite well now. he doesn't slouch over anymore :)

Peyton can sit by himself

So we have been trying to get him to sit up on his own for a little bit now. And he typically just rolls to side. But tonight I sat him there and he stayed. he is balancing on his hands, but still he's sitting. He sat for probably 5 minutes at a time til he got tired! This is not the best picture, but I had to show you his "stance" This was taken Easter when we were practicing.
