Me and Johnny Jump Up

Taylor doesn't quite get the concept of it (which is ironic cause she jumps in one all day everyday at daycare) but at home she just likes to swing in it.

A new love

ok, since Taylor and Beckett arrived Mom and I decided we needed an embroidery/sewing machine. This new hobby has turned into a new love or obsession! Ahhh...maybe I can make this my third career who knows...i will take it one stitch at a time.

love these little giraffes

I had to put the cute monkey on a bag.

Thank you Ella and Samantha!

Just wanted to tell ya'll thank you for passing down Ella's clothes! They have sure been a lifesaver! Thought she looked cute in this today so wanted to post. Taylor is so greatful her pjs, etc. fit now. They are way more comfortable :)

Happy Valentines Day

First food-Sweet Potatoes!!!

Taylor had her first food-other than rice cereal. Sweet Potatoes! and did she like it????
It doesn't look like it at first, but in the end, she liked them! She has also had green beans-which she seems to love and fresh avocado-which she doesn't seem to like too much. I am really going to try to make a lot of her food, but some things like the sweet potatoes and green beans will be from a jar if I forget to prepare her dinner ahead of time :)

Just some fun pics

I LOVE this cow outfit, but I think this is the last time little Taylor is going to be able to wear it. It is just a little short in the length and tends to make it come off her shoulders if she straightens out. :(

I can do it

She has been trying for awhile, but today she finally fed herself her bottle! Yay!

Valentine's Day shirt

Bebe brought Taylor two cute Valentine's Day shirts, but when I held them up to her today I realized they weren't going to still fit come Feb 14th. So I peeled one onto her today and she sported it all day, but I don't think she can where it again. looks cute here...
a little tight but cute...and wait for it...

out pops the belly!
Hilarious. When she got to playing with something it would come up and get stuck above her belly. When I took her to daycare, her teacher saw her belly hanging out of her shirt and said, "oh, Taylor got chunky over the last week-her belly hangs out now"
Ahhh...I knew I shouldn't have left that shirt on her, but it was kind of cute with the belly hanging out.

It had to effect everyone

Up until today, the ice storm did not have a really bad effect on Travis, Taylor and I. It had taken Travis' truck door handle, but other than that we were lucky. We had electricity. We don't really have any landscaping yet for it to hurt. We were lucky. Then today rolled around and I had to get out to take Taylor to the doctor. The side roads were slow and kind of yucky still, but we did just fine. Then leaving the doctor it happened...the day started to fall apart. Driving down the highway a chunk of ice from the front of my car flew up and hit the windshield. It shattered (refer to picture below)
I pulled over to check the damage. It had busted so bad that pieces of glass were on the inside of my car on the dash. So we decided it needed to go the the auto shop ASAP before everyone else goes. So I went home, called around and found a place that would take it today and get it back to me tomorrow-Yay! Most other places were saying next week was the soonest. So I packed Taylor back up and headed out. I decided the way I took earlier was too icy still that I would try another way. BAD IDEA! The road only had a cleared path for one car and when I met another car I decided I would be nice and scoot to the snowy part and let them pass on the somewhat cleared part. Then it happened...sliding...scooting...more sliding...Ditch! It was bad that I drove into the ditch, but at least I was smart enough to make sure we did run into that hill. So here are the pics below that I took on my camera phone while Taylor and I waited for Travis. We were not hurt...just in a ditch.
Not so bad huh?
(I know it looks like the road is clear, but the sliding actually happened at the top of the hill where the road was covered...and I slid all the way to this resting point.

Still doesn't look too bad

Oh no...that isn't pretty. Taylor's side was pretty much leaning on that hill. And the right tires were buried. Lucky for us though Travis came right when two other guys stopped and they put weight on the back of the car and Travis finally drove it out after spinning for awhile. It doesn't look like much damage was done except to my self esteem. I felt so stupid, but 2 of the people that stopped to help said they were each in a ditch in the last 24 hours.

Ice Storm

Thought I would post just a few photos from the ice storm. Since we have all been sick around here and iced in I got a little stir crazy today and so Travis took us for a small drive to see the damage. It looks more like tornado damage than ice! I think iced trees are so beautiful, but it makes me sad that it breaks so many of them. We have not had dance this week and schools are closed again tomorrow so doesn't look like I will work this week. The news said my area got 1.25 in of ice. Most everyone is out of electricity. We were very fortunate because ours only blinked alot but never went fully out for an extended period of time.
We only had Taylor out for a minute...we had to get her pic in her first ice storm!

look at the amount of ice!
Travis' basketball goal
This sign was posted in front of this street. Can you tell that it is a telephone pole across the road...Scary!

Beautiful road by my house.

Can you see the sleet bouncing off the top?

Travis tried to get into his truck yesterday and broke off the door handle!

Notice Canon and Shadow do not have foot prints in the snow, nor are they sinking down into it. It is a solid sheet of ice they are sitting on.

what to do?

Yes we put Taylor in the sink...just moments before this photo Taylor filled her diaper with diahrea and as you can see immediately threw up ALOT after that. And when I say threw up-that is an understatement! You can see that she has some on her onesie and pants...what I didnt take a photo of was me and the couch. She threw up so much that we soaked a burp rag then i just wrapped myself around her to try to avoid getting it anywhere else. I didn't succeed. It soaked threw all of my clothes and when i stood up it poured off of me onto the floor! Wow-alot of throw up. We have all been battling a major stomach bug here and Taylor has dealt with it for a couple of weeks now. Bebe and Pops came up this weekend and Taylor was nice enough to start sharing and gave Bebe the bug to take back to LR! So anyway, we didn't know how to start cleaning her so we just put her in the sink so we could get a game plan!

Taylor can stand on her own...

well kind of.

I don't know at what month they are really suppose to be standing like this, but Taylor has always been such a stiff body and loves to stand while you hold her, so last night Travis propped her up and she loved it! The voice you hear is Papaw (remember...he had to come get her when schools closed).
She did great until she got excited and wanted to stomp her feet and at that point she came tumbling down...

the joys of motherhood...

We are battling our first cold. Well, she has been battling it for about 3 weeks, but it got way worse this week and we thought it went into her chest so we took her to the doctor. Good news...not in her chest. She weighed 14 lbs 5 oz by the way. She gained a whopping 2.5 oz in a week! We had to get her a humidifier, put her on a decongestant, and get a new electronic snot jerker. Apparently the bulb kind is hurting her nose and causing the inside tissue to get inflamed making it harder for her to breathe! So we are learning. I have been up most of the night every night this week (Travis too)...cause she wakes up coughing and then gags then comes the snot bubble and vomit and I have to flip her over and get it all out....the joys of motherhood.
Then so that I can get a little sleep I put her in bed with us and she will dose in and out the rest of the night (snoring when asleep and coughing when awake) so not good sleep for us. Well, Wednesday we were really battling the snot vomit and choked several times and although she didn't have a fever anymore, I wasn't up for sending her to daycare so Travis came home at 3 so I could go to work. Well, by Wednesday night she was doing much better so I decided she could go to daycare all day Thursday and I could clean, go to the gym, and get a lot of errands done and to work by 1:30. So Taylor of course had a hard night again and was getting restless around 6 so I got her up and fed her. She did not want to eat. After I got down 2 ounces I tried to give her the medicine and here came the snot and vomit bubble (Jill-she has gotten me several times now so I hope this makes you feel better). Well, most of her meds came back out too. Ahhh...I couldnt' give her anymore for 8 hours and wasn't sure if any even made it in. So I kept getting her ready. Woke Travis up and he got ready to take her to daycare. At 7:15, I went to get her doctor's meds note out of the car and guess what??? SNOW! Are you kidding? I yelled at Travis to see if he knew it was suppose to snow. No he didn't. But told me to check and make sure her daycare wasn't closed....and of course, it was! I woke her at 6 and had been up for over an hour, packing her stuff and getting her ready just to find out she couldn't go to daycare...the joys of motherhood.
So now I prayed that Springdale Schools would close so I could stay home with her because we don't have a backup plan if her daycare closes. Just my luck....her district was the only one closed. Travis couldn't leave early and I had to work. Now what? I couldn't go to the gym. I still had lots to do. She ended up having to run my errands with me in 10 degree weather..and go to dance with me at 1:30. Luckily, I didn't have to teach till 4 and Papaw had to come to the rescue and drive up from Alma to get her at 4. Thanks Papaw! So I guess it all worked out, but all in all it has been a stressful week...the joys of motherhood.
Next week is a new week though and we are hopefully at the tailend of the cold so next week should be much better.
Ok, I can't blog without posting pics so...here are
a few fun pics from Thursday when she was all ready for school, but couldn't go.
This is very true. She loves her momma, but when daddy walks in she is all smiles!
